In October and November 2017, meetings were held in primary schools “Antun and Stjepan Radić” in Gunja and “Ivan Filipović” in Račinovci as well as in Agricultural and Forestry High School Vinkovci, where it was defined where and how the project activities of raising public awareness will be carried out by project partners Institute for Development and International Relations and Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment.
The main objective of this activity is to inform population in both border regions about the importance of flood protection and wildlife conservation as well as to stimulate cross-border cooperation with particular focus on students in local schools. Therefore, two types of info activities will be organized: info days in primary schools and field work for forestry high schools in the Spačva and Bosut Forest areas where students will be introduced with all phases of natural resources management, the causes and consequences of floods to the forest eco-systems and the role of forestation of areas affected by floods.
Anticipated month for organization of info days is March and fieldwork will be held in April.
